> Some questions for the folks who were at the meeting yesterday: > > * Do we have the cabling? i.e. UTP and electricity cabling Some , but really : no > * Has someone ordered/bought the velcro, bolts, etc? Me and dries will be going to the hardware store today at around 17h, will look for bolts and some inspiration. You're welcome to join us and help. > * Do we have a plan? Or are we sort of randomly drilling holes and putting up cables? For the moment: the second. We hope by then to have a better idea. > * Do we know where the telephone wire goes yet? Or who to contact about it? No, check K, but he seems real busy working and procreating (how's that working out? Any news yet?) > If so, put some more stuff on the wiki :P done : http://0x20.be/HoleDrilling ;-) > I'll probably be there sunday. Cool, See you!
We tore down the TL lights (and broke one). We created cable ducts from chicken fence, and planned on putting them up with steel cable. However, we found out that the ceiling is extraordinary hard to drill through; After much frustration we managed to get only one duct up. We will need an alternative or a heavier drill for the other sections. For future projects: design it so you drill in the side walls, which are a lot softer.
Goals for the sequel
- Take a heavier drill to put up the other ducts.
- Redo the electricity
- Ethernet & telephone wiring
